Selfishness is an enemy of Biblical Manhood, and guys, I need to grow in being selfless! One of my best friends observed recently that I need to “move from selfishness to servanthood.” What a great way to put it! Christ is the standard for Biblical Masculinity, He laid down His life for others, He was never selfish, and as a man I’m called by grace to emulate His example. The good news is that joy is on the other side of laying down your life. Remember Christ suffered the cross for the joy set before Him (Heb. 12:2).

Josh Harris cites a passage from D.A. Carson’s book “The Cross and Christian Ministry.” Click here to read the post; I think the effect is a stab into the heart of selfishness.
