Here’s Ligon Duncan at Together for the Gospel.  Also for those interested in further reading into the subject of Calvinism and evangelism, Iain Murray wrote a great book you might want to read called Spurgeon V. Hyper-Calvinism: The Battle for Gospel Preaching.

Ya’guys,

I just finished Tennants article in Christianity Today and Bill’s response to it. I think Father Bill’s response is accurate. I recommend reading CJ Mahaney’s book Sex, Romance, and the Glory of God. In it he sites five reasons for why the Song of Soloman is really a celebration of martial intimacy. They are as follows:
1)Solomon’s topic was obviously about sex
2)The Bible never suggests that this book isn’t primarily about sex.
3)God’s relationship with man is not sexual.
4)Spiritualizing the book doesn’t work(The results can get very strange.)
5)We need instruction on sexuality.
