“The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.” Proverbs 29:25

A great verse and a great truth. When we are concerned with pleasing people more than God, we fall into a trap. This is a huge issue in our culture today. We live in a world surrounded by appearance, and really what people think about our appearance. The question usually becomes, “what do others think of me” rather than “what does God think about me.” It is selfish, it is proud, and it is a man-centered way of thinking.

That’s why I’m excited about this new book by Lou Priolo. I just got it and can’t wait to read it. That’s my sales pitch for you. If you struggle with the fear of man, this looks to be a great resource to add to your library.

You can get the book here

p.s. If you really want to study this topic and fight this sin, another great resource I highly recommend is “When People are Big and God is Small” by Ed Welch.
