Now that we have reached the heart of the matter, the fact that God saves the undeserving sinner who repents and trusts in God’s mercy evidenced in Christ, where does that leave us?

Albeit, with these truths in mind, we have sufficient reason to praise God for all of eternity. He has saved us! He not only created each of us, but He has set His mercy on those whom He has chosen to save that we might praise Him forever! But he didn’t just stop with creation or salvation…

No. God, in the lavishness of His mercy, chose not only to redeem us, but then to adopt us as His children and to make us heirs with Christ! Galatians 4 expounds on this in clearer detail, but we see this truth displayed here in our text of Titus 3 as well…

7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

If you have trusted in Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, if you have been clothed with His spotless robe of righteousness, know then that you have not only been redeemed, but adopted as a son of God and are now an heir in the hope of eternal life!

Don’t you dare try to throw off the robe that God has clothed you with and try to fit yourself with clothes of your own making! All our deeds, even our most admirable ones, are tainted with sin and are nothing more than polluted rags! (Isaiah 64:6)

Instead, I pray that we would enjoy and revel in the free, unmerited grace of God our savior! He gets all the glory!
