Runtime: 261 min

History, in my opinion, should be one of the favorite topics of men. With that, the Civil War is one of the more man-inspiring historical events, especially in American history. Brother against brother. Men standing up for and dying for their beliefs. Arguably, the battle of Gettysburg was the biggest, most decisive battle in the war. Gettysburg is not only a great movie of this historic battle but is one of the best movies about the Civil War. It’s a fantastic movie, though it is very, very long (4 1/2 hrs) and, unfortunately, you basically need a whole day free to watch it. So, invite your guy friends over on a Saturday afternoon and enjoy a classic war movie together. You will not regret it.

The Quiet Man

Runtime: 129 min

The Quiet Man is by far one of the greatest John Wayne movies (which automatically earns this movie 4 steaks). However, this movie seems to go unnoticed because it is 1.) not a western 2.) not a war movie and 3.) a kind of love story. Trust me guys; this movie is worth owning and watching even if it isn’t the typical John Wayne movie.

Fellas, you will love the cinematography (Academy Award, 1953), the underlying story of John Wayne’s character (Sean Thornton), the humor, and the movie’s climactic fight.

The basic review is this: Watch it. Enjoy it.
